Janna S. Lewis is a licensed California attorney. From 2008-2014, Lewis also served as Co-Founder, General Counsel and top legal advisor to Fay Investments, a specialty mortgage debt investment manager.  In this role she regularly conducted due diligence on loans with bankruptcy, foreclosure and title issues; and she drafted, negotiated and closed complex real estate transactions for the acquisition, management and disposition of mortgage loan pools and Mortgage Servicing Rights. From 2008-2013,Lewis served as Co-Founder, General Counsel and top legal advisor to Fay Servicing, a specialty mortgage debt investment and management company that focused on distressed loan servicing .

To Advisory Opinion Ms. Lewis brings a thorough understanding of the legal, monetary and regulatory intricacies of consumer finance, distressed mortgage loans, the capital markets within which consumer debt is traded and serviced. Her expertise in mortgage law includes purchase agreements, custodial agreements, servicing agreements, distressed mortgage loan due diligence, acquisition and servicing transfer oversight, licensing, corporate structure strategies and related agreements, state collection and foreclosure laws, title issues, analysis and valuation of loans affected by consumer bankruptcy, debt collection compliance, litigation oversight, a network of creditors’ rights attorneys and industry professionals to help her source loans and complete projects with results that surpass client expectations.

During that period Lewis’ responsibilities included oversight and training of debt collection policies and procedures; debt collection, mortgage banking and CFPB compliance; licensing; corporate and vendor agreements; vendor management; management of foreclosure, bankruptcy and defense litigation; and oversight of servicing transfers and title curative work.
